Color Challenge: Mustard–Not Just a Condiment

It’s way easy to cling to your favorite color combos.

Before you know it, you’re stuck in a rut, and everything you make looks the same.

So Courtney and I thought it would be fun to feature a weekly color conversation, offer some palette choices, recommend yarns and patterns, and issue a fun challenge.

Want to win something cool? Read on!

MUSTARD--The versatile condiment color

Okay, I chose this color because even though it’s been around for a while, I initially found it really difficult to work with.

I liked it but just couldn’t figure out how to work it into my projects.  The one skein I had picked up just sat there laughing at me, and the longer it sat there the more I could feel it mocking me.

From the other softball moms’ mustard-colored skinny jeans to the mustard cowls and infinity scarves...it was (and still is) everywhere.

I had to figure out a way to make this color work with my current go-to colors!  Once I did that, my mustard yarn no longer mocked me, but I now had a new favorite color!!

MUSTARD works for a variety of palettes!

Courtney and I have each chosen a color palette that features mustard to help jump start your color journey.  We have also included several links to some patterns to help inspire you.
