Meet Our Happy Family
This is the dedicated team responsible for making Happily Hooked Magazine and Pattern Pack Pro such amazing “for makers, by makers” publications.

Courtney
Operations Manager & Creative Editor
Courtney is a curly-haired sometimes-at-home Mom to three feral kiddos (ages 16, 14, and 12) and wife of one super-nerd. She learned to crochet in the summer of 2006, and her house slowly started filling with yarn (mainly worsted weight - because worsted weight is the best). She is super addicted to Ravelry and has a mildly unhealthy obsession with fun crochet hooks. Her favorite things to make are granny squares, hats, and amigurumi in super bright colors. Crochet keeps her sane, and she loves sharing her love of the art with everyone she meets. When she’s not crocheting, Courtney enjoys antiquing, reading, cross-stitching, playing games with her children (as long as it’s not Monopoly), Harry Potter, naming inanimate objects, and drinking the occasional glass of scotch with her hubby.

Cara
Customer Fulfillment Manager
Hi Everybody! I’m Cara Louise, and I’ve been working here at Happily Hooked almost since it began in 2014, missing just the first few months. My passion is for making sure that my subscribers receive all the digital and physical products they should. It’s a tough job sometimes, because technology can be both wonderful and frustrating at the same time, and it can take ninja skills to get it all sorted out!
My “official” job title here is Customer Support Manager (only because the boss-man tells me that “full -time multitasking ninja” is not an actual job title); I am also the Subscription Database Manager and the Product Fulfillment Manager. My husband is my physical product fulfillment assistant- he is an excellent label-put-on-er and package-carry-up-and-down-3-flights-of-steps-ifier!
I’ve been crocheting since about 1974 when my Mother taught me. A year or two later, I found a bag that had been HER mother’s, which contained some gorgeous doilies her mother had made, along with some skinny crochet thread and some impossibly small steel crochet hooks. I fell in love at that first sight, and created my very first doily (and pattern!) that day by copying one of my grandmother’s.
2 birds, and a grown son and daughter-in-law call me mom... and now somebody calls me Nonna too!! I love all shades of pink and have fun dyeing my naturally silver locks magenta or fuchsia whenever the mood strikes me!

Christine Botehlo
Tech Editor And Educator
Hi! I'm Christine, a tech editor and educator here at Happily Hooked. I am a wife to a funny electrician and mom to an intelligent and tall 13 yr old son. I am a plant lover; my plant collection rivals my yarn collection. I learned to crochet at nine but didn't pick it back up again until about 20 years ago. I crochet every day, and if I'm not crocheting, I'm talking about it. I love to teach people new things, to challenge themselves, and to break the rules. When I'm not crocheting, I enjoy playing Pokemon Go with my son and his friends!

Margaret
Brandwriter
I’m Margaret. I love to crochet, to write, and to be happy, so writing for Happily Hooked is pretty much everything I’ve ever wanted in a job! When I’m not doing this, I’m hanging out with my weird and hilarious husband and our weirder cats in New York. I love getting together with our friends to take in some rockabilly or surf music or even go on a tiki-inspired vacation. If that’s not on the social calendar, maybe some cryptozoological research is — who knows what the weekend will bring? One thing for sure, since my mom taught me to crochet as a little girl, it’s been my constant companion and has seen me through thick and thin. Now I get to write about it and share it with other people — I couldn’t be happier!
