This is the dedicated team responsible for making Happily Hooked Magazine and Pattern Pack Pro such amazing “for makers, by makers” publications.

Courtney

Courtney

Operations Manager & Creative Editor

Courtney is a curly-haired sometimes-at-home Mom to three feral kiddos (ages 16, 14, and 12) and wife of one super-nerd. She learned to crochet in the summer of 2006, and her house slowly started filling with yarn (mainly worsted weight - because worsted weight is the best). She is super addicted to Ravelry and has a mildly unhealthy obsession with fun crochet hooks. Her favorite things to make are granny squares, hats, and amigurumi in super bright colors. Crochet keeps her sane, and she loves sharing her love of the art with everyone she meets. When she’s not crocheting, Courtney enjoys antiquing, reading, cross-stitching, playing games with her children (as long as it’s not Monopoly), Harry Potter, naming inanimate objects, and drinking the occasional glass of scotch with her hubby.

Cara

Cara

Customer Fulfillment Manager

Hi Everybody! I’m Cara Louise, and I’ve been working here at Happily Hooked almost since it began in 2014, missing just the first few months. My passion is for making sure that my subscribers receive all the digital and physical products they should. It’s a tough job sometimes, because technology can be both wonderful and frustrating at the same time, and it can take ninja skills to get it all sorted out!

My “official” job title here is Customer Support Manager (only because the boss-man tells me that “full -time multitasking ninja” is not an actual job title); I am also the Subscription Database Manager and the Product Fulfillment Manager. My husband is my physical product fulfillment assistant- he is an excellent label-put-on-er and package-carry-up-and-down-3-flights-of-steps-ifier!

I’ve been crocheting since about 1974 when my Mother taught me. A year or two later, I found a bag that had been HER mother’s, which contained some gorgeous doilies her mother had made, along with some skinny crochet thread and some impossibly small steel crochet hooks. I fell in love at that first sight, and created my very first doily (and pattern!) that day by copying one of my grandmother’s.

2 birds, and a grown son and daughter-in-law call me mom... and now somebody calls me Nonna too!! I love all shades of pink and have fun dyeing my naturally silver locks magenta or fuchsia whenever the mood strikes me!

Shawna

Shawna

Publishing Editor

Shawna is a wife and mother to 2 adorable kiddos. When she isn’t crafting, she is spending time with her family at the ball field. She’s been married to her husband Ryder for 13 years, and they have a 12-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. Shawna taught herself to crochet 18 years ago, and for most of that time she has been designing patterns for herself, recently she started to sell her patterns. She loves adding color in most projects for visual interest. You can find her at “Lilly’s lil’ Knits” on Facebook.

Marija

Marija

Art Director

Hi! I'm Marija, a multi-disciplinary creative from Serbia. Ever since I know myself, design plays a big role in my life. I'm based in Belgrade where I run a small design studio. I enjoy a good cup of coffee, watching movies and traveling.

Abby

Abby Letner

Promotions Coordinator

I'm Abby--mom of three, lifelong crocheter, voracious reader, and aspiring novelist. At some point I was supposed to grow up...but so far I still spend most of my time playing with books, paper, and yarn. In my mind, I live a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. My crochet speed is 1 beanie per 2 episodes of The Mandalorian. I'm beyond grateful to work with the team at Happily Hooked, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes me!

Sam

Sam

Social Media Manager

Hi friends! I am Sam, a crocheter and designer with a passion for helping others learn the ins and outs of the craft. My business, Creating In The Mitten, was started to keep this southern girl warm during the winters in Michigan that last forever. Normally you can find me in my studio surrounded by coffee, my sweet cat, and more yarn than I can use in a lifetime - but always working on the newest idea that’s popped into my head!

Debbie

Debbie

Finance Director

Debbie is a wife and mother of three adult children. She learned to crochet in an after school program. At the time, she took it very seriously, designing many outfits and blankets for her dolls. With children to raise, she put those hooks down and didn’t pick them up again until her youngest son brought home many bags of remnant yarn. She pulled out the hooks, learned to read patterns, and started a group called Redeemed Remnants. Over the last few years, her group has donated items to children all over the world. Her journey has come full circle, and she has begun designing again. Her life dream was to grow up and become Nancy Drew, and in so many ways she has.

Phanessa

Phanessa

Photographer

I am a self taught crocheter, doting mother to three rambunctious boys, avid crafter, photographer, and a secret yarn hoarder. In my free time, I like to go camping in the great outdoors with my husband, boys & furry babies. Family is everything to me. When I find a quiet moment (if that's possible!) to myself, I am busy either writing up patterns for my newest creations or trying to get my latest project done. Crocheting is my creative outlet and often times a stress relief as a busy mom!

Margaret

Margaret

Blog Editor & Columnist Coordinator

I’m Margaret. I love to crochet, to write, and to be happy, so blogging for Happily Hooked is pretty much everything I’ve ever wanted in a job! When I’m not doing this, I’m hanging out with my weird and hilarious husband and our weirder cats in New York. I love getting together with our friends to take in some rockabilly or surf music or even go on a tiki-inspired vacation. If that’s not on the social calendar, maybe some cryptozoological research is — who knows what the weekend will bring? One thing for sure, since my mom taught me to crochet as a little girl, it’s been my constant companion and has seen me through thick and thin. Now I get to write about it and share it with other people — I couldn’t be happier!
